9-Week-Old Singapura Kittens: Cat Wheel, Terrace & Big Dreams

Singapura kittens running in cat wheel

You might think a small fitness club has moved in with us. Our three Singapura kittens are now 9 weeks old – and the change over the last few weeks has been breathtaking. Cautious babies have turned into real athletes. And their favorite piece of equipment? The cat wheel.

Why a Cat Wheel Is Perfect for Singapura Cats

Our small breed may be the smallest cat breed in the world, but their need for movement is enormous. That’s exactly why we decided early on to get a cat wheel. At first, there was hesitation – today, it’s the hotspot of the room.

Again and again, we watch our Singapura kittens step in, first slowly, then faster and faster. The enthusiasm is contagious. It’s wonderful to see how much joy such a wheel can bring – and how well it challenges the cats without overwhelming them.

First Steps Outside: The Terrace as an Adventure

Of course, our cattery maintains pure indoor living. That’s important to us. But on particularly sunny days, we treat our Singapura cats to a short visit to the secured terrace.

Last week, it was that time again. The sun was calling, and we opened the door. What happened next was pure happiness: Our three Singapura kittens carefully stepped outside, stopped, listened. Every sound was registered with big eyes. It was a moment of pure curiosity – and we were allowed to be part of it.

What Makes the Singapura Cat So Special?

Anyone interested in a Singapura cat or even considering to buy a Singapura should know one thing: These animals are not your average lap cat. They are:

  • extremely curious – every drawer must be investigated
  • climbing enthusiasts – trees, ropes, curtains (yes, really)
  • people-oriented – they want to be involved, always
  • playful well into old age

Our three kings are the perfect example. They challenge us, challenge each other – and give us moments in return that we wouldn’t want to miss.

The Singapura Cat: Small but Mighty

People seeing a Singapura cat for the first time are often surprised. These delicate animals weigh only 2 to 4 kilograms – and yet they contain so much personality. Their large eyes, the delicate sepia color, and the fine ticking make them unmistakable. But caution: Anyone who takes a Singapura cat into their home isn’t getting a quiet lap dog. This breed is alert, intelligent, and needs stimulation. Ideal are companions – just like our three kings, who play, romp, and cuddle with each other day after day. So anyone choosing a Singapura cat should bring time – and a heart for little whirlwinds.

Responsible Breeding: Our Path

We are members of the international umbrella organization FIFe, which sets the highest standards in cat breeding worldwide. For us, this means: health, temperament, and species-appropriate care come first.

That’s why we plan our litters carefully. In the second year, we aim for two litters. Currently, our beautiful Lucie is already in heat again – a clear sign of nature. We’ve therefore temporarily given her partner Itzibibi a little distance. But that’s part of responsible breeding.

Buying a Singapura: What Should You Look For?

Anyone considering to buy a Singapura faces an important decision. Because this breed is not only rare but also special. Certified by FIFe, we place the greatest value on health, socialization, and transparency. Anyone wanting to buy a Singapura should inform themselves beforehand: Does the breeding adhere to animal welfare standards? Are the animals kept appropriately? Is it possible to meet the mother? These are all questions we are happy to answer. Because we want every Singapura kitten to go to a loving home – and for the new owners to know exactly what to expect.

So if you are seriously considering to buy a Singapura, you are warmly invited to fill out our contact form with as much relevant information as possible and to add yourself to our waiting list or subscribe to our newsletter.

Conclusion: Our Heart Beats for Singapura

It’s precisely these moments that show us anew every day why we chose this breed. Whether racing in the cat wheel, taking their first sunbath on the terrace, or relaxing on the sofa – our Singapura kittens enrich our lives endlessly.

We are curious what the coming months will bring. One thing is certain: It will never be boring.
